bareMinerals Ethereal Nudes is a 6 piece set featuring a variety of neutral shades and finishes. This is my first experience with bareMinerals lip products and I gotta say first times a charm with this set! I love the variety this set provides while keeping all the shades everyday wear friendly. Most lip sets include at least one bold shade I’ll never wear so I was happy Ethereal Nudes keeps it all neutral. 💄
bareMinerals describes this set as “From high-shine lacquer to buttery lip gloss to modern matte liquid color, this collection of mini Gen Nude lip colors includes multiple finishes and formulas to wear alone or layered. It’s a little taste of everything with true-to-you shades of pink, peach, and mauve“.
This set provides a great sample of what bareMinerals lip products have to offer. I received this set as a birthday gift and I’ve been using it constantly. Most days I stick with dusty pinks/basic neutrals for lip colour. I’m usually wearing heavier eye makeup and I find it hard to balance a dramatic eye look and bold lips. This set gives me an array of neutral options that pair well with any eye look I can whip up!
The three different lip formulas in Ethereal Nudes all perform well though I prefer the matte liquid lips and the lipglosses. The 6 shades and finishes included in this set are:
Mini Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor (0.06 oz/ 2 mL)
- BO$$ (dirty pink beige)
- Swag (blushing mauve)
I could wear these two shades for the rest of my days and be happy! The shades are perfect for me and they’re a fantastic formula. I rarely find liquid lipsticks I like to wear. I usually find liquid lipsticks too drying and uncomfortable on my lips but these are great. Neither shade dried my lips out or noticeably settled into my lip lines. They applied evenly and didn’t dry faster than I could apply them like some liquid lipsticks do.
Mini Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss (0.06 oz/ 2 mL)
- Tantalize (honeyed almond)
- Must Have (mid-tone neutral rose)
These lipglosses aren’t too sticky or thick. Both glosses wore nicely on their own or applied beautifully over the matte lipsticks. Tantalized is quite sheer when applied – it looks like a clear gloss on the lips. Must Have provided just enough shine to make my lips look hydrated and healthy.
Mini Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer (0.08 oz/ 2.5 mL)
- Hype (muted burnt peach)
- Bestie (soft petal pink)
The mini Lip Lacquers were my least favourite of the three finishes. Though, I’m a little biased because I always prefer a matte lip. The formula is quite thick and isn’t the easiest to apply. Hype felt sticky when applied, Bestie wasn’t as sticky but I was aware of the product on my lips. Both shades were pigmented and provided an extreme shine.
A few things to note about this Ethereal Nudes:
- All the products in this set have a sweet, flowery smell. I don’t mind the scent but it is noticeable once the product is opened and applied to the lips.
- I found all of the six shades had to be reapplied after eating but if the product is comfortable to wear I can live with that.
- Ethereal Nudes is currently on sale at Sephora so grab a good deal while it’s available.
I enjoyed testing products from a brand I don’t regularly purchase from. bareMinerals isn’t a flashy brand – packaging isn’t their focus. I don’t keep up with their product line but this set is making me reconsider that. Though the packaging isn’t anything special, the product inside is truly what’s important and this set didn’t disappoint.
