January 2021 has come and gone. Fortunately, lockdown rules are loosening a bit where I live, so things are looking a tiny bit brighter. I thought it would be fun to share a few favourites things that got me through a quiet, quarantine January. This blog focuses mostly on makeup, but I would like to try sharing some things that aren’t solely makeup related. So, let’s jump into my favourite things of January 2021!
There’s no better beauty deal than the Boxycharm PopUp shop! Recently, there’s been some amazing deals in the PopUp shop, I couldn’t resist grabbing a few products at a massively reduced price. I might have gone a little crazy, but there’s nothing better than some good old-fashioned retail therapy to ease the quarantine fatigue.
2021 can’t come fast enough! Things won’t snap back to normal when the calendar flips, but the hope of a new year is always a moral boost. To that point, I have a companion piece to my post about brands I tried for the first time in 2020. I tend to purchase from the same brands over and over again, but I would like to experiment more in 2021. Today, I’ve got a list of five brands I would like to test out in 2021.
I love makeup value sets, but sometimes it’s debatable how much a set is truly worth buying. Makeup has become such a powerhouse industry and prices are constantly going up. I thought it would be fun to see what I could find on Sephora’s website that was under $25.00CAD (more or less under $20.00USD). Some items included here are on sale for Black Friday, but I think they’re worth mentioning. Let’s dive into the deals!
How much is my face worth? It’s an intriguing question. I’ve seen this tag go around the Youtube/blogosphere for a few years now. Before now, I’ve never been brave enough to sit down and add up the total amount of money the makeup I put on my face costs. So, I thought there’s no better way to spend a quiet quarantine day than to total it all up! I’m busting out my calculator because I know the total is going to be too high for me to add up mentally.
It’s that time of year yet again! The Sephora VIB holiday sale is upon us. I can’t believe it’s already November, it feels like it’s been a blink since it was 2019. Last year, I skipped the VIB sale altogether because there were so few products that peaked my interest. This year I’ve been very intrigued by many of the holiday collections brands have released. It makes for quite the dilemma when there’s so much beautiful holiday makeup. I definitely can’t buy everything I want, so let’s narrow down the list to the Top 5 Wish List items I’m considering.
It’s that exciting time of month again. My January BoxyCharm has landed! I’ve been so impressed with the products I’ve received in three months of being a BoxyCharm subscriber. This month’s theme is breaking the ice, so let’s bust this box open and see what’s inside!
It’s that magical time of month! My first ever BoxyCharm has arrived. I’ve been wanting try a different makeup subscription service for awhile now. I found I wasn’t getting want I wanted from IPSY so I decided to go with BoxyCharm. My box has arrived with 5 full sized products and an additional Tarte palette as a bonus for signing up. It’s that time of month again. My monthly bag of makeup mystery has arrived! I haven’t been as thrilled with the products in my IPSY bags lately but I received a variety of products I enjoy this month. The October bag is cute as a button with big Betty Boop eyes. Traveling the world is my first love. I’m so excited to be embarking on a three-week backpacking trip through Europe starting this week. The only downside – I can’t fit my entire makeup collection in my suitcase. I need to decide which makeup product are going in my travel bag. I’ve whittled the list down to six top contenders. My monthly bag of makeup mystery has arrived – my January IPSY bag is here. I was really happy with the products I received in this months bag. Though, for some reason they included a nail polish (again). In any event, four out of five interesting products isn’t bad so let’s dive into January’s IPSY Glam Bag.
2018 was a fun year for makeup, I experimented with new products this year from a range of brands. Surprisingly, the products I tried for the first time were the ones that impressed me the most. These products became staples in my makeup routine. Most of the products that I discovered this year weren’t necessarily new to the makeup market but they were new to me. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favourite makeup discoveries of 2018.
I received my monthly bag of makeup mystery – my November IPSY bag is here! I loved the design of the bag I received this month but I wasn’t nearly as impressed with the contents. I wouldn’t have purchased any of these products for myself – but I’ll give them a try for science reasons! 👩🏼🔬 💄
I finally received my monthly dose of makeup mystery – my October Ipsy bag arrived! This was the best assortment of products I’ve received in an Ipsy bag for months! I got a bag loaded with five products I will actually use. I loved the design of the actual bag this month (the last few have been kind of blah).
