I own enough eyeshadow to last until the end of my days. Some products catch my attention and manage to stay at the top of my makeup drawer. Other palettes I only use a few times and they end up ghosted or forgotten. These palettes have been relegated to my makeup graveyard. I want to resurrect these palettes, get them back into my regular makeup rotation and rekindle the feeling of excitement I had when I first purchased them. Let’s take a lot at a few lesser loved palettes in my collection.
Love is in the air! The new sparkly, pink cheek palette from Natasha Denona is here. The limited edition Love Cheek Duo is inspired by the Love Story collection Natasha Denona released in 2020. I was literally in love with this palette from the moment I saw it. I knew I had to have it, but it’s difficult to judge face products online without seeing them in person to colour match. I took a gamble on this one, let’s find out if I’m lucky in love with this duo.
Queue the excitement! Pat McGrath has announced a new collection. There’s a whole boat load of new ultra rosy products landing just in time for Valentine’s Day. I’m a sucker for pink eyeshadow, so I want everything in this collection. With that said, the Pat McGrath name comes with an exorbitant price-tag, so I’m going to to try my best to resist temptation. Let’s discuss the pros and cons of the Divine Rose Luxe Quad.
I really wanted to try Viseart eyeshadow in 2020. Luckily, Viseart Petite Pro Midsommer palette was under the Christmas tree for me! This little slice of warm midsommer from Viseart is one of the tiniest eyeshadow palette I own – they don’t call it Petite Pro for nothing. Let’s play around with this Midsummer Night’s Dream themed palette. Hopefully, this palette is punching above its weight!
Introducing the Too Faced Cinnamon Bear Limited Edition Eye, Cheek and Lip Makeup Collection. This collection has everything! Adorable embossed bears, cinnamon scented lipstick and a cute little red bag perfect for travel. I’m a big fan of berry tones and pink eyeshadow, so this collection was basically tailor made for me. Let’s find out if this cinnamon themed palette can warm my heart.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there was a character so adorable he needed his own dedicated eyeshadow palette. ColourPop Cosmetic released the Child palette inspired by the cutest sidekick in the galaxy – Baby Yoda. The second I saw this palette I knew I had to add it to my collection! Let’s find out if this Baby Yoda palette is as lovable as the character who inspired it.
Pumpkin Spice and everything nice! This gorgeous 18 pan palette is filled with warm, Fall shades that make me want a Pumpkin Spice latte stat. This palette does have strong Fall vibes. Despite this, Winter is settling in where I live. Let’s find out if this palette can fight off my winter is coming blues.
The holiday 2020 makeup session is upon us! With everything going on in the world this year, makeup has been a fun distraction. I’ve been really interested in many of the holiday collections this year. I’ve been enjoying researching products and deciding what I want add to to my collection. There was one collection that caught my eye immediately – the March Jacobs Beauty Very Merry Cherry Collection. I needed to have the gorgeous cherry themed eyeshadow palette in my collection. Let’s find out if this palette is full of holiday magic.
Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Moon! So much of my childhood was spent watching this iconic series. I remember having a magic scepter that lit up and made sounds! I wanted to be Sailor Moon as I kid – now as an adult, I can do my makeup like her. This is sort of a retro review. The beauty industry pumps out new products so fast after a few months some palettes can feel like old news. Too Faced’s Gingerbread Extra Spicy was released for holiday 2019 as a sequel to the massively successful Gingerbread Spice. I wasn’t going to post about this product because I received it for Christmas and it seemed like Extra Spicy’s time in the spotlight had passed. Though, I saw a few people posting on Instagram about finding it at TX Maxx or Marshall’s so I figured I would share my thoughts. Let’s dive in and see if this spicy palette brings the heat!

The mothership has landed! Pat McGrath Labs is a high end brand with an out of this world aesthetic. Pat McGrath palettes are so coveted in the beauty community it’s almost as if they’re otherworldly. A few month ago, some of the brands six pan palettes were on sale and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one. Let’s see if this Platinum Bronze, $89.00CAD palette lives up to the sky high hype!

And so it grows! The story of my ever expanding Too Faced collection. Recently, I bought the Sparkling Pineapple eyeshadow palette from the Tutti Frutti collection. I’ve wanted to try the Tutti Frutti collection since it was released, but it’s not available at Sephora so accessing the line in Canada isn’t easy. I thank my lucky pineapples that this collection ended up at Marshall’s. Plus, the palette was on sale for $19.00 so I couldn’t lose. Let’s see how Sparkling Pineapple performs!
